FINAL DAWN (Finland)
......Death Dark Metal......

Final Dawn was formed at summer 2000 by Guitarist Vesa 'Vesku' Mattila, Drummer Mikko Törmänen
and bassist Hessu Meriläinen. Aiming to create some type of Death/Thrash/Progressive metal.
No real vision back then, we just started writing material.

One thing band was lacking in the beginning was the singer. Some guys came and tried,
but they weren't really that impressive. So guitarist started trying out the shit, and is still doing
that job. Also another guitarist was need, couple guys came and left, until Marko Leiviskä(he was
playing in The RMS at the time also) joined the band. So we started writing our own shit and
soon our first self-recorded and mixed homemade demo 'Suicide of your world came out' at april 2001.
Quite low quality release, but we didn't really care - I we got some gigs with it, and it even got
some air time on Finnish radio.

Soon after First demo Meriläinen left the band, and Toni Laine joined the band. This was fixed
lineup for so called 'old Final Dawn'.

Already at next fall Final Dawn headed to famous Tico Tico Studios in Kemi, Helsinki. Recorded
2 song demo 'Aggression Overdrive. And in the end of 2001 V-P Haastola directed the "Aggression Overdrive"-video,
which is still online at youtube etc.

After hard promoting of “Aggression Overdrive”, several labels showed their interest again.
In the beginning of the summer 2002 Final Dawn was signed to a small english label.
A 5-song MCD was recorded in January 2003 at the Sonic Pump studios, Helsinki.
But things didn’t went well with the label and the deal was terminated at spring 2003.

After negotiating with few labels Final Dawn signed a deal with New Aeon Media, which is
a sublabel of Karmageddon Media (ex-Hammerheart Records) in November 2003.
The band went back to the Sonic Pump Studios to record three new tracks to complete the “Under The Bleeding Sky”-album.
Killer debut album (8 songs, 40 minutes) release date was set to March 22nd 2004.
The Album was released both in Europe and States, Sell numbers are quite unknown...

Soon after this Guitarist/Singer Main man of the band moved to Helsinki and band went 'on hold'
for years.

Then years later, maybe around 2007 Mattila got active with Final Dawn, started building the band up again
with drummer Leonard. After starting struggle, change of member etc. band was formed:
Guitar/Vocals: Vesku, Drums: Leonard, Guitar: Olli and bass Topi.

At yearh 2008 FD released 'And They Die' promo with 3 new songs. This was release was mostly used for getting
gigs and giving it to people, to spread the word that FD is back!

After the new coming of Final Dawn the second guitarist left the band, for the lack of interest mostly.
So FD was trio now, and decided to stay that way - Trios kick ass! This is also the current lineup, and
band is really welded together more like brotherhood than a band.

At this time The band moved to new awsome rehearsal place,
where they had their own peace, no other bands hassling around and new songs started flowing in.
2009 3 Song release 'Martyrs of Vanity' was released, and the style of new Final Dawn was really starting to form.
Music was starting to turn more brutal, darker and colder. And more insane...Release got some good reviews,
good gigs and lots fun(including beer). Also studio video from couple of the songs @ youtube.

2010 another release saw lightless day of Finnish winter, 'Soulless Can't Repent'. This is basically almost like full length
album with 5 songs, Video also made from 'Soulless can't repent' - available at Final Dawn's website and youtube.
