NECROPSY (Germany)

The German Death Metal Band NECROPSY was founded in 2001 in Nuremberg by Jörg Schönsteiner (guitars), Marco Heidig (bass) Martin Welzel (drums) and Robert Janßen (vocals).
After two years of rehearsing, the Band released their first Demo called "Demon" for which almost one year later the second Demo “The Chosen One” followed.
Due to several member changes throughout the proximate years, NECROPSY’s original line-up was nearly completly replaced in 2004 by Lars Lüttge (guitars), Lutz Lohmann (bass) and 2007 “Chriggy” Dietrich (vocals) and Sascha Pratnekar (drums). Jörg, the only single original member left the band 2008 due to sanitary problems, but returned after recovery in 2009 to play the second guitar again.

NECROPSY played many shows , supported bands like e.g. Suffocation, Deranged, Dying Fetus, etc. and was also even selected amongst thousands bands (!) to play at the voting contest at the “Metalcamp Festival 2008” in Slovenia.

Within the same year they entered the “Rebound Studios” in Nuremberg to record their first full length Album “Deathprayer” which was released in March 2009 by the Austrian label “Noisehead Records”. The debut was distributed in Europe and the USA.
To support the album as best as possible a video clip of the title track was also produced and spread via Youtube.
The album received many good reviews and feedback worldwide, but nevertheless at the very beginning of 2010 the next line-up change was to follow:
“Chriggy” and Lutz left the band due to other musical interests and found a replacement on the bass by Andreas “Bundy” Hirneiß (also member of PLAGUE ANGEL).
In the end Dany Dead from Nuremberg’s Sleaze-Grind veterans DEAD was presented early March as the new vocalist of NECROPSY.

The final new line-up is currently writing new songs for the next album. A few have been finished already…
